Meet Samantha or Sam--named her after the character on Bewitched, because she will cast a spell on you!

Everyone at the dog park says she is adorable. Samantha, and her siblings Tash and Arya, didn’t have a great start. They basically lived in a junkyard with no human interaction the first five months of their life. She had to learn what it means to be a puppy and to have fun. And, she is all puppy, and learning new things, including sit, come, laydown and leave it.

Samantha is really shy around new people. Her new family will need to be patient while she adjusts to her new environment. They must be willing to help socialize her, as her shyness and social anxiety will take time to overcome. It took a little while for Sam to warm up to her foster dad, but with lots of treats and some patience, she now follows him wherever he goes. Sam is currently frightened of small children and would do best in a home with no children. She would do well with another canine sibling in the house to help mentor her in her new surroundings. She loves being around other dogs and loves the dog park.

She likes playing with her squeaky toys, fetching her tennis ball and her Kong. Like all puppies, she is a chewer, so it’s important to have puppy appropriate chew toys around for her to play with. And, she loves being outdoors and playing in the sprinkler.

Sam is learning to walk on a leash and is practicing her “stops”. She sleeps well in her crate at night. I take her out on a regular schedule and is house broken.
