About Reghan

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
  • Housetrained: Yes
Reaghan is a three year old Border Collie mix who joins us again after her original adoptive home was no longer able to provide an appropriate environment for her. But their loss is your gain because Reaghan is a wonderfully adorable little love bug who is a joy to have around. Reaghan enjoys being around other dogs once she has warmed up to them and especially loves chasing them around the yard. She is interested in cats but has learned not to bark at or chase them, but will follow them around at times and just watch them. She also enjoys watching our rabbit but has not tried to hurt her. Reaghan plays with toys by herself but has not yet engaged in fetch or tug with us. She also has enjoyed chewing a nylabone from time to time. Reaghan is crate trained and housebroken, knows sit, down, shake, speak, circle and typically comes when called. She is used to being groomed and rides well i n the car. She has been through an obedience class with her previous owners. Reaghan is not a high drive dog and is content to hang out around the house, but she does have energy and a playful spirit. She is eager to please and food motivated and I think could easily b e trained for sports like obedience, rally, Nosework or barn hunt. She is also quite athletic and not afraid to jump or climb and could be a nice agility dog for someone who just wants to enjoy the sport with a dog who is not too over the top and would also be a good pet. Reaghan also has potential as a therapy dog or as a great family-she is an A+ snuggler and will let you rub her belly all day long! She would probably also enjoy long walks and possibly jogging. However, Reaghan was returned to us about 10 lbs overweight so she is working hard on her diet. It will be important for her new home to continue her weight loss program especially before pursuing and high impact activities such as agility or jogging. Her ideal weight is approximately 25 lbs. Don't miss out on your chance to have this wonderful girl join your family! Reghan is being fostered in the Springfield area.
