London is a 12 year young female border collie who lost her family, who had her since a puppy, due to a sudden need to move abroad. She is adjusting well to this major upheaval in her life, and despite the grief she is certainly experiencing, she is a very happy girl. She previously lived with three kids as an only dog, and co-existed well with her kitty sibling (though she shows strong prey drive to the outdoor cats in the neighborhood, as well as towards small puppies). London currently lives with very respectful 6 and 4 year old humans and she has been nothing but gentle with them.

London learned her foster family’s routine quickly, and loves going for walks, surveying the yard for squirrels and rabbits, and getting belly rubs. She was crate-trained as a puppy, but had free reign of the house with her previous family. When her foster family leaves the house, she crates well for the right treats, and is quiet in her crate. While she prefers to be with her foster mom, she doesn’t need to be and happily spends time with other family members or sometimes sunbathing on the back porch.

London walks well on leash in the early morning, and we are working on better walking when more is going on or others join our walks. She learned quickly not to pull after squirrels and birds in the park, and is very polite and friendly to other dogs she gets to meet. We are working on reminding her of basic commands (like sitting for more than ½ second when asked to sit) and her selective hearing is improving quickly.

Her overall health is great, though she is currently being treated for worms. London is a special girl with a gentle heart and plenty of energy to be an active companion.

London is being fostered in the St. Louis area.
