Meet Rue – A Loyal, Loving Adventure Buddy in Search of Her Forever Home

Rue is an 8-year-old purebred sable Border Collie with a heart full of love and a classic herding spirit. She’s been a deeply cherished companion and is now looking for her next great adventure with someone who can match her energy, loyalty, and need for connection.

What Makes Rue Special:

  •  Affectionate and loyal with the people she trusts
  •  Loves playtime – especially with other dogs, water hoses, and outdoor fun
  •  Highly intelligent and eager to please, with good recall in calm settings
  •  House-trained, spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations
  •  Car-friendly (especially when heading to the dog park!)
  •  Great with confident, well-mannered dogs – especially larger ones
  •  Gentle with puppies, though she can be a bit bossy during play

Rue’s Ideal Home:

  •  A home with a large, securely fenced yard (6’ privacy or cattle fencing recommended)
  •  An active person or couple who hikes, runs, or enjoys outdoor adventures
  •  No young children – homes with kids 13+ only, due to her herding instincts
  •  A home that understands Border Collie needs and appreciates her working-dog mindset

Other Notes:

  •  Rue doesn’t love crates or baths, but she cooperates like a champ
  •  She’s an incredible jumper, so chain-link or low fences won’t do
  •  Barks at activity outside her boundaries, so secure fencing is a must

Rue has been loved deeply and deserves a home that can continue to give her the affection, space, and stimulation she thrives on. Her current family is heartbroken to rehome her and is committed to finding the absolute best fit.
