Xena is a 7 Mo old BC mix, found as a stray(suspected she was dumped) that has come into rescue from Ok. She is a beautiful black and white smooth coat, at 24 lbs.

Xena is very much a puppy, with an enthusiasm for life, and adventures outside the shelter! She is a little shy meeting new people, using her “army crawl” for reassurance. She is gaining more confidence daily, as she settles into her routine. She is already kennel trained, running for her meals there, as soon as the food comes out. She mastered the doggy door right away and is house trained.

Xena LOVES to play with other dogs in the yard in her foster home. She loves playing fetch, and her treats! Being food motivated, she is a blank slate, very trainable. She will do best with a dog companion her size or bigger, to give her the corrections she needs as a puppy. She would be best in a home without cats. She would love a fenced yard where she can run and play with dog friends and humans.

Xena LOVES people! She is working on calming her exuberance when foster mom comes home. As stated, she loves treats and working on sitting nicely and not jumping. She has the herding dog trait of nipping at your pants as you walk away from her. Because of this, she would be best suited for older children. She does love all children she has met, and wants to be close and always happy to cuddle. She has not met toddlers or babies.  She’s always happy to snuggle for a good movie or a nap.

Xena is an active, sweet, cuddly, puppy with moderate energy, so will need daily exercise, and brain stimulation. She does love her treats and learning sessions, it will be easy to continue the training she needs.
