Meet Tymber!  Tymber is a handsome four year old black and white smooth coat loving boy who has the fluffiest natural white collar encircling his sleek neck!  All four of those precious paws are white - with a few freckles here and there.  Tymber loves being loved on and petted!

Tymber came to the rescue from some very difficult circumstances, where food was in short supply and where neglect was all he knew.  This sweet boy has started putting his past behind him and has really come out of his shell – although he can still be a little timid or shy in uncertain situations.  Due to the neglect, he endured, he is still somewhat submissive, but he is learning to trust and to enjoy the love he is given.  Food is understandably very important to Tymber given his almost starved condition.  He hasn’t shown himself to be greedy and is learning to wait patiently for his food and treats.

Tymber is super quick to learn new things and runs as fast as the wind! His energy level is in the moderate range, but he also likes to just kick back and relax.  He is blessed with an innate Border Collie intelligence that will lend itself well to additional training.  Tymber thrives on positive reinforcement and is very food motivated! 

Tymber has learned that his kennel is a safe place to be and to sleep – but he also loves a soft bed! Tymber currently stays in his kennel when foster mom and dad are gone. He is housebroken and will go to the door when he needs to go outside. He will also go to the door when he wants to go outside and hang out!   Tymber is actively learning commands and is quite eager to please.  In a very short time, he has learned the commands: sit, down, come, wait, kennel up, that’ll do, leave it, and fetch. 

Tymber is a happy boy who loves to play with his foster brother (6 yr old Border Collie) and foster sister (7 yr old Border Collie mix). Tymber would love to have another canine companion to play with in his new home. Have we said Tymber loves to play!!!  Tymber loves all things called TOY!  Stuffed, unstuffed, rubber, squeaky, balls – he loves them all.

Tymber is friendly to everyone he has met so far!  The ladies at the groomer couldn’t get enough of this sweet boy!  He loves to be outside and even loves to sunbathe!  He rides well in the car and seems to enjoy going for rides in the truck. Tymber has some subtle herding instincts but will stop with positive correction. Tymber will need a fenced yard.  We are working on upping our leash walking game with gentle reminders and lots of positive reinforcement.
