Penguin is one of 6 puppies that were left in a box along a creek in rural Oklahoma (one puppy was found in the water.) They were taken to the pound but kept outside. Once with Mo-Kan they were placed in foster homes and have thrived beautifully!

Hi, I’m Penguin. Yes, like the bird. My foster mom said her 4 year old granddaughter could name the next puppy and when she heard it was going to be black and white AND they were talking about penguins in daycare….. well, I became Penguin. So, I have had to toughen up for 2 reasons . One, my name, and 2, my brother Puffin. If you don’t know Puffin, you can read about him on his bio page.

Puffin thinks he’s the boss of me, but I have told him in no uncertain terms, that I am strong and not a pushover. Plus I have befriended the big dog in the family and when I squeal, he comes between me and Puffin. Now, Puffin and I have become pretty tight and we kinda like to roam around the property outside together and can sometimes get into a little bit of trouble. Our favorite spot is the vegetable garden. There are so many neat smells and plants to hide in. We pretend we are in the jungle and jump out at anyone walking by. Sometimes we just jump out and pretend there’s a big lion around the bend but its just Maverick the dog and he’s harmless. I used to like to wiggle under the deck, but my foster dad put an end to those shenanigans and nailed up a board so I can’t get under there anymore. I love being outside, but I also love to snuggle.

I like the little kids that come over to visit and I let them pet me and hug me and sometimes I jump on them and laugh when they holler “DOWN PENGUIN”. I’m learning to potty outside and I’m quiet when I get crated for the night.

I really hope that I find a family that is active and likes to go to parks and just take me places with them. I wouldn’t mind having another dog in my family and a cat would be ok too. My foster mom thinks I need a fence, so I don’t wander off exploring the great unknown.

Penguin will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract.
