Dobie is a beautiful 1 year old pure bred border collie. He should weigh about 40 – 45 pounds so he’s the perfect size for a running partner. His previous owner said he ran with him off leash and Dobie stayed close. He lived as an only dog for the first part of his life, but has gained great play skills in his foster home and loves to chase and romp with his foster brother. He also loves waking his foster dad up in the morning and gives kisses before going back to his bed.

Dobie has typical border collie interest in moving objects such as other dogs, squirrels, etc. so he may do better in a home without small animals. He’s doing well with leash walking and does great with a front connect harness.

Dobie doesn’t know a stranger and greets everyone with a full body wag. He’s extremely friendly without being clingy. As a teenager, he has quick arousal but also settles down quickly and loves quiet naps during the day.

He is potty trained and crate trained and knows ‘sit’ ‘down’ and ‘come’. He’s a quick learner and will benefit from additional training. Dobie would do best with an active family who enjoys exploring the world with an intelligent, sometimes goofy, but always loving canine companion.
