Polar Bear is ready to find his forever family! His handsome looks aren’t the only thing he has going for him, he’s got a personality to match! Polar is an active boy with a big personality. He LOVES being outside playing with his foster sister and patrolling the yard for critters. He does have a high prey drive, so a fenced in yard is required in case he is in hot pursuit of a squirrel. Polar gets along great with most other dogs, he just has a hard time accepting if other dogs don’t want to be friends with him. Territorial males have been the least welcoming of Polar’s friendship offers, so a female or more “neutral” male dog would be the best suited companion for Polar. There will never be a dull moment with this boy in your home. This fluffy goofball lives to be dramatic. He almost always has something to say whether it’s about food, attention, or asking him to do something…he likes to talk about it. He is a sucker for attention, too…he has no problem invading your personal space if that means he’s going to get attention. If you ask Polar, it is against house rules to let his foster sister get pets unless he is also getting pets. Polar hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like and does great around kids. He is still working on some manners like jumping, marking and sharing bones with others, but he has been showing improvements. Polar likes playing with toys and is motivated to learn new things with treats and attention. He knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. Polar LOVES the dog park. The ideal home for Polar would be an active family with another dog around his age to play with. No cats or small pets due to his high prey drive. He will need a fenced in backyard to continue his favorite job as a yard patrolman. His new family should have experience with basic obedience training, so Polar can perfect his manners to be the best boy he can be. Do you see forever in his eyes? If you do, fill out an application for Polar’s adoption! Polar is being fostered in the Ames, IA area.
