Polar Bear is ready to find his forever family! His handsome looks aren’t the only thing he has going for him, he’s got a personality to match! Polar is an active boy with a big personality. He LOVES being outside playing with his foster sister and patrolling the yard for critters. He does have a high prey drive, so a fenced in yard is required in case he is in hot pursuit of a trespasser. Polar’s favorite place to go is the dog park. He plays well with the other dogs and enjoys greeting all the people for pets.

There will never be a dull moment with this boy in your home. This fluffy goofball lives to be dramatic. He almost always has something to say whether it’s about food, attention, or asking him to do something…he likes to talk about it. He is a sucker for attention, too…belly rubs are his favorite, and he has no problem invading your personal space if that means he’s going to get attention.

Polar hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like and does great around kids. He is still working on some manners like excited barking and jumping, but he has been showing improvements in his weekly dog training class. Polar likes playing with toys and is motivated to learn new things with treats and attention. He knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. Polar is crate trained and potty trained. However, he does like to mark when he is in new environments, so belly bands are recommended when introducing him to new places.

The ideal home for Polar would be an active family with another playful dog around his age to be his best friend. No small pets due to his high prey drive, but cats may be okay with proper introductions. Polar does not currently live with any cats but has been introduced to cats a couple times. He will need a fenced in backyard to continue his favorite job as a yard patrolman. His new family should have experience with basic obedience training, so Polar can perfect his manners to be the best boy he can be.

Do you see forever in his eyes? If you do, fill out an application for Polar’s adoption!

Polar is being fostered in the Ames, IA area.
