Dove is a 3yr old gorgeous purebred border collie that was an owner surrender, due to a move. She is petite at 30 lbs.

Dove is sweet, gentle and very shy, taking her time to warm up to people. She loves her crate, it is her safe, happy place. She will venture out of her crate in her foster home to see what is happening. She is now comfortable enough with her foster family that she will follow her people around the house.  She has great manners, she is polite, doesn’t jump up, and quiet in the house.

Dove would enjoy a quieter home, sudden, loud unexpected noises startle her and can be scary. A more quiet suburban neighborhood, or rural area would be more a more enjoyable home, a yard is a must. Dove LOVES to be outside to play her favorite game of fetch with her ball. She will politely ask if you can take her out to throw her ball! She loves toys and chews. Dove knows “sit, down, paw, wait, and come”.

Dove loves being outside, taking walks is one of her favorite activities. She is still getting used to all things on her walks, some noises, and big cars are a little scary for her.  She might be a great hiking buddy too.

Dove does well with other dogs, but probably wouldn’t enjoy dog parks. She really prefers her people over playing with rowdy dogs.  Dove will need a family or person that is comfortable with, and knowledgeable with a shy dog. Confidence building activities, and allowing her space and time to adjust to her new home is must for Dove to be happy.
