Bert and  his siblings were abandoned in a bag in rural Oklahoma.   They were found by someone who cared enough to help them get into rescue.  Three of the puppies, Bert, Ernie, and Abby, were transferred into MoKan BC Rescue.   All of the puppies were treated for fleas, ticks and worms.  The 3 in Mokan are healthy and active and will be altered on Dec. 28.

Bert is the black one with the pretty white splotch on his chest.  Though initially more cautious than his littermates, Bert is coming into his own.  He is not afraid of the 2 adult dogs in his foster home and will follow them around, sometimes being bold enough to grab a stick from them, or at least give it a try.  He likes people and has been tested around kids around 11-13 yo and does well.  He has gotten to sniff a 5 month old baby and watch them through a baby gate.  He was great!  Bert sticks close to me when we are walking around the yard, so close that I have to be careful not to step on him.  He makes a wonderful lap companion when watching tv and he enjoys toys.    Bert and his sibs are all working on house and crate training.  They have had a dry crate after sleeping all night for 8 hours.  Bert likes his crate and uses it as a refuge when he is tired or the play gets a little rough for him.   Bert has not been tested around cats but I would be surprised if he is not fine with them.  Frankly,  I’d worry more about Bert than the cat.

Bert is being fostered in the Kansas City area.
