Hush is a year and a half old pure-bred border collie neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is house and crate trained. Good with other dogs. Can be housed without a fence if exercised appropriately. Affectionate, athletic, active and goofy. Medium to High energy. He loves to play with toys and he amuses himself throughout the day with chew toys and tossing around and unstuffing soft toys.

Hush has never had an accident in the house and is well crate trained. He sleeps in his crate at night and while we are away at work. He lives with two other dogs: another young border collie and an old cranky French bulldog and he does well with both. He would be fine living as a single dog or in a multi dog household. Introductions should be slow. No cats.

Hush is leash trained and non-reactive towards people and dogs we pass on the other sidewalk. He is fearful when approached directly by strangers. Introductions of people should also be done slowly. Hush should not live with children as their erratic and unpredictable movements can wind him up.

He is a double merle heavily white dog and this does come with some hearing and vision impairments. Hush is mostly deaf. He can hear some sounds but not regular human voices. This can be an advantage as he sleeps heavily and doesn’t always hear outdoor noises that another dog may react to. He also has some slight vision impairments in bright lights but this doesn’t seem to affect his ability to catch a frisbee or run a trail.

Hush should be trained with positive reinforcement as he is sensitive. He is still young and has plenty of time to grow into a truly great dog. He is smart and has picked up on visual cues quickly. He knows basic obedience commands including sit, down and come. Currently his main source of exercise is biking and playing fetch in the yard. He bikejors with our other dog and is very good at picking up visual signals from him. It almost appears that he knows the verbal directional and speed cues but it is hard to know just how much he hears and how much he is picking up from his running partner.

Hush is looking for his special person. He seeks out attention and validation. While he is active throughout the day he loves to cuddle on the couch and watch TV at night. He will make someone a great pet.

See the video of his first trail bikejoring run. He has been out many times since and has only gotten better! He gets so politely excited when I get the harnesses out in the morning

Hush is being fostered in the St. Louis area.
