Travis is a 2 year old 40 pound boy who came to us from a rural pound July 3^rd after his owner was incarcerated. We don’t know anything about his previous life, but he appears to have been loved and well taken care of. He is respectful and playful with other dogs but will chase cats.

Travis is shy with new people, but warms up quickly, especially if they have treats. He slightly prefers men to women. Slick floors and children make him nervous. He walks well on a leash with just a little bit of pulling or, if fireworks go off, a lot of pulling to go home. He is goofy and playful with his foster mom and eager to please. He has begun “talking” when he gets excited for a walk. He has only barked a few times otherwise, out of excitement.

Unlike many Border Collies, Travis has low energy in the house and will find a quiet corner or his crate to lay for hours at a time. He enjoys chewbones and is very treat motivated. He got “zoomies” when another dog play bowed, so we’re looking forward to allowing true romps at Kansas City’s Bar-K dog park when he’s healed from his neuter.

Travis is crate trained, house trained, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered and on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas and ticks.  If you’re interested in Travis, please fill out an application.
