Eli is a 3-4 year old Border Collie Mix that somehow ended up a stray that landed him being picked up by animal control, thankfully MOKAN stepped in and rescued this sweet bundle of joy!

Eli is around 30-35 lbs and full of energy! He loves running and playing outside with his foster siblings. He is learning how to play fetch and doing very well! He loves chewing on toys and tossing them around when he's inside playing! He is quite funny because he will go around and pick up three or four toys he likes, put them all together and one by one he will play with them but also share with his foster siblings! After a good play session, he will sneak off and go lay in his crate and take a good nap or lay on the floor and snooze.

He is housebroken and can use a doggie door. The only time we have had to correct behavior is due to marking in the house, but it was only a couple times and has not done it since! He enjoys his crate and is crated during the day while we're are at work, I think as he matures he could potentially be a dog that could stay out during the day. He has not offered to chew on anything besides toys or get into anything he's not supposed to! He does well with car rides. Bathing and brushing are not his favorite things, you have to introduce it slow to him and easy for him to be okay with it.

We have been working on basic commands like sit, stay, and lay and so far he is catching on well. He has come a long way. Eli can be a very clingy dog, he loves to give hugs around your leg and have your undivided attention. When your on the couch, he will try and climb in your lap and be up in your face, we are working on personal boundaries and he is doing great! He can be very submissive at times as well. He would need someone who is really willing to continue working on these behaviors and training! He is always willing to please and be your best friend!

Eli would fit in best with an active home that can give him that attention and training he needs! He does great with other dogs, we are unsure about cats! He is very happy boy and ready to enjoy the rest of his life in a loving home! He is currently being fostered in the Springfield, Mo area.
