Someone is coming out of her shell. Waffle was relinquished to MoKan BC rescue from a litter of 8 ten month old pups. She was intimidated by most things including other dogs, people and loud noises. Over the last several weeks, she has grown much more comfortable with both dog and people interactions . Now she will run outside every chance she gets and even run alongside the big dogs. Her favorite thing is a mad dash around the yard and the only thing she likes better than that is mealtime. She is bold enough now to steal a toy when one of her foster brothers aren’t looking. She will give a slight “ lip” and growl when she has had enough teasing. Enough to let everyone know she needs some alone time.

Waffle used to be the dog at the dog park that was looking for the way out from all The commotion but Not so anymore! She approaches most dogs to sniff and does not immediately roll on her back. She gingerly tries to check out the humans too and may even let a few pet her. She loves to run around there and is pretty good about coming when called.  Waffle has become much more comfortable with company. She had to share her foster home w 9 adults, 5 dogs, and 2 cats over Thanksgiving and got a gold star for her stellar behavior. She didn’t steal a single item of food though I would not trust her alone with a turkey breast on the countertop. She even sought out pets from people new to her.

Waffle has not had any accidents in the house and she willingly crates with a milkbone as her companion. She sleeps crated in her foster parent’s bedroom and will sleep for 7 hours. She will bark sharply when she is ready to get up in the morning.  Waffle knows sit and she is learning come. She is working on leash skills and goes on 2 leash walks every day. She mostly loves to run in the yard and will need a fenced in yard. She is a moderately active dog. Young children might be scary to her though dog savvy older children would be fine.

Waffle is looking for someone w a little bit of patience who can allow her time to grow comfortable in new settings and with new faces.  Waffle wants you to know that lawn mowers and vacuum cleaners are pretty scary to Her and she will hide from Them so we figure that she will prob react to fireworks and guns and other loud noises .  This petite girl weighs in at a whopping 35#. She has tiny little paws and the cutest face. To meet her, contact MoKan BC Rescue.
