Willow is 7 month old female at the time she came to us. She has a very petite frame, will likely max out no more than 35 lbs. She is a generally happy and spunky dog. Her foster would describe her as a medium energy/medium drive. She would be suitable in an active family or someone beginning sports/learning. She’d be really good in an obedience ring and as she gets more confident, or a good dog to learn agility with. She crouches down when the other dogs are running around in the backyard in an attempt to stalk them but the moment they turn towards her she runs away. She does not appear to have significant herding instinct. She does have that border collie hesitant/nervous environmental reaction every now and then but redirects really well. She has never shut down or come close to it, just gets a little spooked tries to hind behind a person occasionally.

She likes to play with toys and loves playing with the water as it shoots out of the water hose. No real drive for tug or disc. Super food drive though and very fast to catch onto things.

She can be possessive and will nip at other dogs if they’re around her food or invading her space too quickly. As of now she just eats in her kennel and is fine with that. She’s never shown and issues regarding food towards people.

She rides well kenneled in the car. No stress, anxiety, or crying. She tries to jump into the back but hasn’t quite discovered her backend yet. She isn’t what I’d call a Velcro dog and does want to wander a bit inside when she’s loose, so she requires a close eye. Good in public thus far. She is interested in other people and dogs walking by but she sits and refocuses very well.

She has not been child tested yet.

She is used to baths and does well in addition to being blow dried on a grooming table. She goes get her nails dremeled. It isn’t her favorite thing in the world but she complies.

Willow would do best in a home experienced with border collies or other herding breeds. She will need someone to give boundaries and keep focused or she’ll take over and do what she wants.

Willow is being fostered in the Springfield, Mo area.
