Meet Gracie, a beautiful 3 year old female, sable/white Border collie.  She is small, weighing in at just 30 pounds.  Gracie was an owner relinquishment because the environment she was in was a little too stressful for her to handle.  She was loved and well taken care of, but found it hard to relax in a home with 2 other dogs and a young autistic child.  Her personality has slowly emerged the past few weeks.  We think she has enjoyed being the only pet in her foster home, not having to share in the love!   She loves being around her person and will follow you around the house.   She is low drive for a border collie, doesn’t really play with toys, but instead prefers to lie around close to her person.   She really loves to look outside and is an awesome squirrel spotter.  To keep her busy, we go on a lot of walks and have been working on various commands.   She is smart, learning how to sit, stay, down, shake, give high fives, roll overs, and has mastered a small agility jump.

Gracie doesn’t like loud, sudden noises, but vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, storms and lawnmowers don’t bother her.   She loves riding in the car and going on walks but gets nervous when other people or dogs try to get to close.  We have been working on socialization and her new owner will have to continue to work on this.   She is house broken and is crate trained.  She is calm that she is one of the few fosters that is allowed to sleep in the bedroom with us (on her own bed, not ours!)

Gracie will do best in a quieter environment, perhaps with a single person or a couple.   It would be best not to have her around smaller children.  But, if you are looking for a sweet, pretty, easy to care for dog that loves to keep you company and snuggle up to you, Gracie will be the one for you.

Gracie is being fostered in the Kansas City area.
