It's hard to say if her adorable face or charming personality will make you fall in love first! Kali was found as a stray and is about 10 months old and did not appear to have gotten a very good start in life. While she was a little timid at first she has come out of her shell and made herself quite at home in her foster home. She is already housebroken and knows a couple of basic commands and hasn't met a person yet that she didn't like. She is starting to play with toys a little bit. Kali does like to play with other dogs but she also really likes having all the afffection to herself so she is having to learn she needs to share attention with her furry foster siblings and not try to keep them away from the humans. While she is a young, energetic and athletic dog she is pretty mellow for a border collie and she really just wants to be near people and be loved on. Kali has made so much progress in a short time. She has almost completely gotten over her resource guarding with the other dogs and has actually settled in to our pack well. She still never misses an opportunity for affection but she no longer tries to keep the other dogs from getting their share as well and will sit and wait for treats with the other dogs nearby. She loves all humans regarless of age, sex or size and would make a wonderful pet therapy dog. She is gentle and good to not jump up when meeting someone new. I have taken her on some outings to parks and a fall festivel and even took her for a couple of short runs. She does very well, just needs a little work on learning not to pull on the leash but otherwise her manners and perfect and I think she would enjoy being a walking/running partner! Kali is fully house and crate trained and loads up eagerly into her crate in the car. She know sit, down, shake and is being introduced to the stay command. She is one of those border collies that has the very nice blend of being athletic and playful but also a snuggler. She would do great in a very active home but will not require constant activity and is content just "hanging out". She loves playing with one of her foster sisters and does not pay any attention to the bird here. She has been introduced to cats and did not pay much attention to them either. So far she still does not have much interest in toys but will pick them up to play with or chew on from time to time now. Kali will need a fenced yard to keep her safe. She is being fostered in Springfield, MO. More information on Kali and other great dogs, including adoption information and application, is available at www.mokanbcrescue.org
