Jeannie is an approximately 2 year old female. Jeannie was an unclaimed stray found wandering in the country by a nice family who tried to find her owners and then contacted rescue when no owners were found. Jeannie is tall, lean and leggy. She should weigh about 40 lbs once she gets to her ideal weight. Jeannie is very food motivated but hasn’t shown very much interest in toys, although she may eventually learn to play with them more. Jeannie loves cuddles and attention and lots of belly rubs. She also enjoys rawhide chews and other snacks. She will help herself to anything she can reach if unattended! Jeannie rides well in the car and was good for her bath and brushing. She gets along with other dogs but would also be happy as an only dog getting all the attention. Jeannie will chase cats if she is not otherwise occupied but could do ok in a home with dog savvy cats and an owner who reminds her that cat chasing is not appropriate and gives her other outlets for her energy. Overall though, she is a pretty medium energy level border collie. When inside she mostly relaxes or enjoys a chew toy. She will cuddle or sometimes play with the other dogs. She would probably enjoy long walks. Jeannie probably has some herding instinct and would likely chase livestock given the chance. She has not yet offered to chase cars. She is crate trained and is very quiet, although sometimes a treat to encourage her to go in will help keep her willing to kennel up. She has not had any accidents in the house. Jeannie might enjoy dog sports but does not need a performance home. She would be a great family pet. Jeannie is being fostered in the Springfield, MO area.
