Hi there! My name is Tango, but you can call me Foxy—I’m working my way up to full Super Fox status, and trust me, I’ve got the charm and spirit to get there. I act like a young, active pup but I’m about 4 years mature and absolutely adore people, playtime, and a few cuddles. Life hasn’t always been easy for me, I was found as a stray nearly starved to death, taken to a local shelter. Mo-Kan BC Rescue stepped in to give me medical care that I desperately needed. I was on a very slow re-feeding program so that I could gain the much needed weight. My foster mom and vet closely monitored me, and I currently weigh a perfect 30 lbs. I’ll stay on the smaller side—just the right size for loving and snuggling! I’m looking for a forever home with someone who loves walks, has a yard to zoom in, and doesn’t mind a shadow following them around. I have a big heart, a playful soul, and a lot of love to give. I’m a white and golden haired boy with a long tail and amber eyes that are full of love and a great smile. From My Foster Family: Tango has been a joy to foster—everyone who meets him falls in love instantly. He’s fully housebroken and will let you know when he needs to go out by whining and sitting by the back door or running between you and the door like a tiny tour guide. He knows “come,” “no,” “sit,” and “down” really well and is currently learning new tricks like “stay,” “shake,” “bring it back,” “fetch” and “release”. He is a quiet boy, preferring to watch the outside world go by, rather than bark. He can walk nicely on a leash but sometimes forgets he’s not in a race, so a little continued training will help with that. He’s incredibly fast and loves to zoom around the yard like a furry little fox. He is incredibly fast with his speed and learning new things. New things can be a little scary, a secure, fenced yard and a gentle, patient, positive approach will be best to continue to build confidence. He can be shy meeting new dogs, especially big dogs, but with time and slow introductions, he might warm up to a bigger dog. With dogs closer to his size, he does meet nicely, is socially appropriate and takes dog corrections well. He would do best with a very dog-savvy cat. He is not aggressive with cats, but is very interested and always watching. With free range chickens, he could chase and catch. You do see the stalking herding behavior with him and chickens, even if they are in a pen. Tango might enjoy agility with his boundless energy and lightning-fast reflexes. His focus and drive to please make him an ideal candidate for agility training or frisbee - and did we mention how adorable he looks when he’s running at top speed? He really is a blank slate ready to enjoy adventures with his humans. If you’re looking for a playful, loyal, and snuggly best friend who’s ready to learn and love, Tango might be your perfect match. Come meet this sweet boy—you’ll see why we call him Foxy! Tango is UTD on vaccines and preventatives and neutered. Fill out an adoption application today if you think he would be your new best friend! Tango is being fostered in the Wichita, KS area.
