We appreciate
you wanting to volunteer! Our top areas of need are foster
homes and help with home visits. We offer training for all volunteer roles. The information submitted
on this
application will be used for the purpose of evaluating potential foster homes
and volunteers.

mail it to the address above. Once we receive your application
you will be contacted by a member
of MKBCR
to discuss
any questions. Your application will then be reviewed by our Board of
Directors.

*We try to have volunteers do home visits in the general area in which they
live. Are you willing
to expand that to more of the KC area?

Interested in Fostering. (If
yes, then answer the following questions.)
*The length of time a dog remains in foster care an vary--from a few weeks
to several
months. Is this ok?
*Please list your veterinarian’s
name, address and phone number.
*Are your other animals' vaccinations up-to-date, including Bordatella?
*Please list the names and ages
of all family members living in your household:
*Would you be willing
cover the expense of feeding the foster dog?
*We have a few vets in the KC area that offer us a discount. Would you be willing
to drive to
one of these vets? If one is not close and your vet would offer MKBCR a comparable
discount,
you are welcome to use them after approval.
*Is
your home suburban, urban or rural?
*Do
you RENT or OWN your home? Please indicate the type of residence
(e.g., rent
apartment townhouse; own home, condo, trailer, etc.) If renting, do you have
the landlord’s
permission to get a
dog?
*What is the approximate size of your yard?
*Do
you have a fenced yard? If not, please indicate how you will exercise
the dog in a safe
and controlled manner. Type of fencing (height, wood, chain link, etc.) and
size of fenced area:
*Do you own any crates that can be used for the foster dog? If not, we can
provide one for you to use.
*Are
you willing to allow a rescuer to complete a home visit by appointment?

then answer the following questions.)
*Are there particular cities
that you typically drive to on a routine basis?
*Can
you provide a dog with an overnight stay if necessary?
*Do you have any crates
that can be used for your leg of the transport? If not, one can be
provided for you to use.
