WOW!!
Look
what some of our Rescue dogs have done!!!

SOLO
Solo
has been Wilderness Search certified by Kansas
Search and Rescue Dog Association (KSARDA is the
team we've been with from the beginning) for over two
years. But, the National Association for Search and
Rescue has developed credentials for search dogs so
there is a consistent national standard for non-FEMA
search dogs. This past week (6/9/08), Solo passed the
K9 SARTECH I Area Search evaluation (the highest level
of area search) and also his Disaster Responder evaluation.
Which was put to good use right away with a callout
to Chapman, Kansas, on Thursday after the Wednesday
night tornado.
Solo
and Vicki are working on HRD Land and HRD Water and
will be certifying in those disciplines in the near
future. He has also shown a talent for tracking/trailing,
so they might try that one of these days too.
We
are so proud of this team!!!

Tulla
Maggie Lou, NA, NAJ
After
their third agility trial, Maggie now has Novice and
Novice Jumpers titles and her first legs in Open and
Open Jumpers. Maggie and her mom, Lori, also have 2
legs in FAST; and they have only competed twice, but
wow, that is their event!! Maggie dominated at FAST,
scoring higher than even the dogs in excellent. She
is every bit as fast as the "crazy" border
collies, but controllable- the perfect combination.
On one of her jumpers legs, she had a clean run in
21.8 seconds. No other dog came anywhere near that
time- the standard was 40. Maggie's got what it takes
to be one of the very best!.
Way
to go Maggie and Lori!!!

Fez
Fez
is a certified therapy dog. He will be going on nursing
home visits and to a dog bite safety program. He also
got his first two legs in Rally Advanced.
At
the last Tail Waggers program, a child was sitting
next to Fez, reading along just fine, then got caught
on an unexpected big word. Fez had been laying with
his head on his paws, seemingly oblivious. Then,
when the child started struggling to sound out the
syllables, Fez suddenly sat up, put his paw on her
arm and gave her "The BC Stare." She glanced
at him, kept going, finally got it and read smoothly
from there on. Fez listened for a few moments, then
sighed and laid back down again. The girl's mom thought
it looked like Fez was trying to mentally telegraph
the word to her. Who knows?
Way
to go Fez! He's got that sixth sense!

Taz
Its
been 3 years this may that I adopted Taz. He is a
reactive dog, but we have come along way. He does
agility, [CPE,AKC,UKC] and does well in all venues.
He is 2 legs away from CPE Championship, has got
his first 30 Mach points and obtained 2 levels in
UKC. This is with limited trialing. We also tried
herding which he did well, flyball he does also. Our
next venture
is to try dock diving, he will do anything for a
t-ball. This boy will do anything I ask him, such
a joy to
own. I also adopted Breeze[Sue] she is doing great,
following in his footsteps. Rescue dogs truly appreciate
that 2nd chance at life.
